Shrikant Lonikar, Executive Vice President - People, Wal-Mart India
In his role as Executive Vice President - People, Shrikant is responsible to drive and build strategic aspects of the business related people elements and bring Wal-Mart’s global expertise to the India business.  As a member of the top management team, he provides guidance on business strategy by bringing in a strong people & culture focus and provides thought leadership to the Leadership teams. He advises the business on resources and people processes, strategy formulation, organization structure, culture and effectiveness, and is responsible for building a world class HR organization.

Shrikant has over 25 years of experience in all areas of Human Resources viz. Talent Management & Development, Learning, Organization Development, Talent Acquisition, Leadership Development and Communication.

Before joining Wal-Mart, Shrikant was Global Director – Organization Development & HR at Honeywell Technology Solutions. He was a member of the top management team at Honeywell and was responsible for all HR, OD & Communication strategies across Asia, Europe and the USA. Under his leadership, the company was assessed at PCMM Level 5, the highest assessment for HR function globally. Also, it was rated as the Great Place To Work at rank 10 in 2005 and at rank 4 in 2006 and ranked in the ‘Best Companies To Work For in India’ survey 2007.

Prior to joining Honeywell, Shrikant has worked with Wipro Ltd., as Vice President, Human Resources. He started his career with Western India Erectors (WIE) in Mumbai, India. He has also worked with Alkyl Amines Chemicals Ltd. and Lupin Laboratories before joining Wipro Ltd. He has cross industry HR experience from manufacturing to sales & marketing, product and service organizations and has worked in FMCG, pharmaceutical, chemical, engineering , technology, IT & ITES industries.

Shrikant is an international speaker on Human Resources and has addressed various international conferences, seminars and addressed many a management schools. He is recipient of Indira Super Achievers Award 2007 which was handed over to him by the top management guru Dave Ulrich of University of Michigan.

Shrikant is a Level I Coach trained by Franklin Covey Institute and is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt. He has completed certification in Leadership Development Programs at Wipro and Honeywell and also has completed Strategic HR Planning course of University of Michigan at Anne Arbor, MI, USA.

Shrikant is a Bachelor of Arts (Economics, Public Administration & Dramatics) and a Master in Labor Studies (MLS) from University of Bombay, India.

He is married to Shreya with a daughter, Aishwarya. His interests include HR, journalism and spirituality.
