Ashnu Phakey joined Subhiksha in Oct 2005 as Sr. Vice President and was instrumental in setting up the first 100 stores in the Delhi region in a short span of 9 months.

Starting from scratch, he was responsible for setting up the entire Delhi operations - from hunting for office space, recruitment of key personnel, finalization of property locations, negotiating and finalizing vendors and establishing the complete supply chain and warehousing.

In January 2007, he was promoted as President of the Delhi/NCR region.

Subhiksha has since opened 400+ stores in the North.

Subhiksha is now India's largest retail chain with over 1400 outlets and a turnover of Rs. 2350 crores. It is India's first and only Everyday Low Price Store Model (EDLP) with 4 business verticals.

Ashu Phakey has a total experience of Fifteen years across MNC's and Indian companies, managing large teams and multi-location set-ups. Prior to Subhiksha, he has worked with Wimco; Frito lay, a Nestle JV and Congra Foods.

Ashu Phakey is a commerce graduate. He completed his B.Com (Hons.) in 1991 and MBA from University Business School, Punjab University in 1993.
